Wanga Technical and Vocational College (WTVC) is located in Kakamega County, Mumias East Sub County within Mumias East Constituency, along Shianda- Butere road on a six-acre piece of land.
It was founded in 2016 by the collaboration between the National Government and the CDF- Mumias East Constituency under the able leadership of the area Member of Parliament, then Honorable Benjamin Washiali.
Wanga TVC was officially inaugurated on 25th October 2019 by H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya. The first admission of students was on 6th September 2019.
The Institution is now focusing its training programs towards meeting the challenges arising from rapid technological advancement, education policy and labor market changes. As a training institute of technology under the Ministry of Education (MOE), WT&VC has prioritized Institutional Capacity Building, ICT Capacity Building, Collaborations and Partnerships, Corporate Governance, Research and Development and Corporate Image in line with MOE goals and other Government policies.
The mandate of Wanga Technical and Vocational College is to facilitate the acquisition of high quality technical skills and knowledge in line with the government policy so as to ensure that its graduates are of world class standards. Its mandate is derived from TVET objectives, which include:
